Unique Stay: The Eugene Dome Home is an Airbnb in Oregon to Add to Your Must List!
The Eugene Dome is a unique stay in the heart of Oregon that’s an absolute must! This cozy hobbit-inspired spot in Eugene falls into the monolithic dome homes category of unique stays, which basically means it’s created with concrete, is energy efficient, and can hold up throughout most natural disasters. Luckily, Oregon doesn’t encounter too many of those, don’t worry! Here’s my Eugene Dome experience and how to experience this Airbnb in Eugene yourself!

How to Get There:
The owner, Madeleine, will provide you with super clear and detailed access instructions. In a general sense, it’s in Eugene, which is in the southern end of Oregon’s Willamette Valley (wine tasting anyone?), just about 15 minutes outside of town.
The Eugene Dome
Pulling up the driveway that’s just big enough to comfortably fit two cars, the Eugene Dome was to the left, and a hot tub was beckoning me straight ahead. I walked the short gravel pathway to the front door and walked in stoked. I knew the Eugene Dome was cool, but it looked even cooler in person!
Four massive circular windows filled the living area with natural light. A pull-out couch and the vintage chair looked super cozy–definitely where I’d cuddle up and read my book later.
On the opposite side of the Eugene Dome is the full kitchen. It had literally everything you could need to cook up a meal–it was almost like walking into pre-stocked home! Expect a full-size stove and oven, a sink with a drinking water spout, a microwave, toaster, teas, a Keurig with K-Cups and little creamers, plates, utensils, glasses, everything! There was even a complimentary bottle of local wine and local beers in the fridge. How freaking thoughtful!
On the counter was a basket with two outdoor towels and plastic drinkware for the hot tub and a lighter and instruction manual for the outdoor fire table.
Turn right to find the bathroom and bedroom.
I unpacked and settled in, making myself at home. The vibe was a mix between Pacific Northwest wildflower paintings and hobbit-themed decor–totally unique and created a fun and quirky environment!

Things to do in Eugene, Oregon
Go for a Hike!
If you feel like stretching those legs, hit the trails! Spencer Butte and Mount Pisgah are both sweet options.
Go Wine Tasting!
There are a few wineries within 10-15 minutes of the Eugene Dome. I checked out Sweet Cheeks! The views were insane, the staff was incredibly kind, and the wine super tasty.
Taste the Town
I swung by the The Friendly Garden for some pretty fire carnitas tacos. It’s a cute food truck spot with plenty of great food to choose from, including a draft beer truck!
Madeleine, the Eugene Dome host, also recommended:
Carlita’s for their tacos, margaritas, and views of the city
Cornucopia for super chill pub vibes and tasty food
Coffee Plant Roasters for yummy food options and a good work space if you need to get some things done
Osteria DOP for some amazing Italian food with an open kitchen
Cafe Yumm for a quick and easy meal!
