Why Chalet del Campo is Arguably the Best Airbnb in Puerto Rico
A vibey A-frame with vast views over jungle-covered mountains, a private swimming pool, and breakfast delivered to your doorstep via a pulley system from the restaurant above–if all that doesn’t gain Chalet del Campo the award for best Airbnb in Puerto Rico, I don’t know what will.
Chalet del Campo is an Instagrammer’s dream and a gorgeous Puerto Rico vacation rental to spend a few nights soaking in Puerto Rico’s mountains from an infinity pool. Here’s my review of Chalet del Campo, and why this Airbnb in Puerto Rico should be on your must list.

How to Get There
Chalet del Campo is on the hilltops of Anones in Las Marías municipio, about 40 minutes from Rincón and a little over 2 hours from San Juan. The roads are skinny and windy but all paved! Just watch out for blind corners–the locals drive fast and don’t mind being an inch away from you. It’s a little terrifying at first.
Victoria (the host) will send detailed directions after booking as a safety precaution. She even sends coordinates, which made it super easy to find when we arrived in the dark! There’s a large black gate that blocks all views of Chalet del Campo for ultimate privacy, once in, there’s another keypad code for entry.
Chalet del Campo
Once through the big, black gate, drive the gravel driveway to find your oasis just about 100’ away! You’ll notice the swing first, where I totally channeled my inner child and and influencer and let my feet soar over the jungle below. It was honestly so fun.

The Breakfast Cart
You’ll pass the breakfast cart on the way through the front door–this is probably the most unique feature about this Airbnb, and one of the many reasons why it makes it one of the best Airbnbs in Puerto Rico. Breakfast is included in your stay, and the cart is attached to a wire that connects to the building on the hilltop above. Yep, it’s a restaurant, and they’ll make eggs, pancakes, bacon, toast, and coffee to order, load it up on the cart, and send it back down to you each morning of your stay.
Scrambled eggs with onions and peppers, fresh pancakes, bacon, and a vanilla latte from the pool with that view? If you know me, you know I love a coffee in the mountains. This was my happy place.
The Rental
Walking in, you’ll be greeted with that view I’ve been talking about. The bathroom is to the left, complete with shampoo, conditioner, and hand soap.
Straight ahead, the living space has a couch, a TV with streaming, the kitchen with the basic necessities (plus coffee and sugar), and two bar swings with an island. In the corner, another swinging chair.
Climb the steep stairs for the second floor where you’ll find two chairs in front of the window in the back, the hanging bed, and a massive tub with that same killer view. Sign me uppppp.
Outside, there’s a BBQ, two lounge chairs with a sunshade (it gets HOT, and the shade is so nice if you want to be outside!), and the swing, and of course, the infinity pool. There’s a built-in tiled pool lounger, ideal for tanning, and the water level almost reaches my shoulders (I’m 5’7”).
How to Book
Chalet del Campo is only available to book on Airbnb, and it does book up, so plan in advance if you’d like to stay here! It’s a little on the pricier side, but is totally worth it–just plan to enjoy ample time here, soak up the mountains, lay in the pool, go for a swing, and indulge in the beauty that’s Anones at one of the what’s arguably the best Airbnb in Puerto Rico.

Things to do Nearby
Surf in Rincon
Rincón is only 40 minutes away by car, and has plenty of surfing beaches, tasty eats, and good vibes to go around.
My favorite surfing beaches are Sandy Beach (named appropriately) and Playa María–both have surfboard rentals just steps from the ocean. The latter is a reef break. If one is flat, the other is usually going off, so it’s nice to check both!
Visit Gorgeous Waterfalls
Gozolandia Waterfalls is just 40 minutes from Chalet del Campo and has two super impressive falls you can swim in! Head to the Gozalandia Campground and Resort to visit both. It’s $5/person for parking and to have access to their private waterfall.
After parking, you’ll hop on a cart pulled by a 4-wheeler that takes you down a gravel road for about 3 minutes to the private waterfall’s trailhead (it was such a short ride I’m surprised they provide this and don’t just have you walk, but it was nice!).
They have walking sticks available and encourage you to use them–I’m ashamed to say I laughed a little since I hike all the time, but took one because they insisted. I ate my words pretty quickly when the trail turned into mud and I was slipping all over the place. Luckily, it was only a 5-minute walk. Definitely take the stick. You won’t regret it.
The first falls has a nice swimming hole and plenty of space to lay your stuff to keep it all dry. We hung out for a while before heading back and starting down the second trail to the shared Gozalandia Waterfall. This walk is a little longer–maybe 7-10 minutes? You’ll start by crossing a shallow river, then walk down a muddy trail for a little while before eventually walking up-river to the falls. It was massive, gorgeous, powerful, and you can climb up onto it to cliff jump if that tickles your adrenaline nerve. I couldn’t get myself to do the big jump, but I did climb up the lower portion of the falls and jump off there! So fun. Barefoot is the best way to go.
Visit Hacienda Lealtad for a Puerto Rico History Lesson (+ Coffee)
I booked this coffee plantation tour thinking it was just going to be that. It turned out to be SO much more. I highly recommend this tour if you’re interested in learning all about Puerto Rico’s political history, and what all went in to working on a coffee plantation.
You’ll get to see the original homes of owners (and slaves) past, their aqueduct system nestled in the jungle, and get to taste some of their own hand-grown and roasted Puerto Rican coffee (since the 1830s).
